The Planning Commission regulates land use in the City in order to preserve the physical environment and human needs of the residents and owners of land in the City.
The Planning Commission consists of five members, appointed by the City Council, that serve staggered four year terms. Members of the Planning Commission must be residents of the City and do not receive compensation for attendance at Planning Commission meetings. Members of the City Council may not serve on the Planning Commission.
Meeting day and time: Third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chamber at City Hall. Field trips are conducted for all cases, usually in the morning on the day of the regular meeting. The Planning Commission may also hold special meeting and joint meetings with the City Council.Committee on Trees and Views
The Committee on Trees and Views is composed of three members of the Planning Commission appointed by the Commission annually at the same time as the Commission selects its officers, or whenever a vacancy occurs. Committee meetings are scheduled as needed as adjourned or special meetings of the Planning Commission.
Members of the Planning Commission do not receive compensation for attendance at Planning Commission or Committee on Trees and Views meetings.

The Traffic Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding traffic regulations, traffic signs, lane striping and driveway curb cuts; and makes recommendations regarding administration and enforcement of traffic regulations.
The Traffic Commission is comprised of one member of the City Council, who serves as Chair and four residents of the City, one of whom shall be a member of the Board of Directors of the Rolling Hills Community Association. The remaining resident members are appointed by the City Council and serve without compensation for staggered terms of four years.
Members of the Traffic Commission do not receive compensation for attendance at Traffic Commission meetings.
Meeting day and time: Fourth Thursday of odd months at 8:30 AM in the City Council Chamber at City Hall.
