What was the original vision of Rolling Hills?
In 1936, A.E. Hanson, developer and founder, envisioned the conversion of a large tract of privately owned land into a community of one-story ranch-style homes guided by deed restrictions governed by the Rolling Hills Community Association (RHCA) and serviced by the appropriate Los Angeles County agencies.
On January 24, 1957, the City of Rolling Hills was incorporated in order to provide the community with greater home rule while continuing to obtain essential services under contract with Los Angeles County.
