The City is in the final stages of adopting its Updated Housing Element for 2021-2029. On September 20, 2022, the Planning Commission reviewed the mitigated negative declaration (MND) and Housing Element Update, and recommended adoption to the City Council. On September 26, 2022, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the Planning Commission's recommendation (click here for the staff report). At the conclusion of the hearing, the City Council adopted the MND and the 6th Cycle Housing Element. The Housing Element was sent to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for certification. On November 23, 2022, HCD provided the City with a letter indicating the Housing Element is in full compliance with State Housing Law.
